Phillip Parker
I got my first camera when I was 13 years old. My dad took me to Ed's Camera Shop and bought the Canon "Demi" that I had been wanting. Being an economy-minded young teen, I realized that my paper-route earnings would go farther with a camera that shot 72 (seventy-two!) pictures on a 36-exposure roll. It did this by just allowing each image half of one frame - hence the name, Demi. I still have that camera and I still use it when I'm just out knocking around with my border collie. I have more cameras now, and less time to knock around, but I still love photography as much as I did when I first walked, smiling, out of Ed's Camera Shop. And I still think of my Dad whenever I pick up that little camera.
